It's still officially Monday so let's get to it...
I'm feeling a bit nostalgic this week, so I thought I'd revisit some of the musicians I've seen in concert.
First up: Bon Jovi
This was the first big concert I went to. I wasn't crazy about going to this kind of concert but I'd promised a friend if Bon Jovi ever played "The Castle" we'd go. They did and we did.
The reason I wasn't crazy about going? It wasn't the music - I loved Bon Jovi. It was the crowd. Police officers and concerts like these don't necessarily mix and, even back then, the smell of marijuana gave me a migraine.
The concert, however, was great. I remember watching Richie Sambora on the big screens totally amazed by what he was able to do with a guitar.
Then there was John Denver:
I still love his music today, especially this song. The concert I attended was shortly after the Challenger disaster and at one point in the show the stage went black and John started to play the song he'd written to honor the astronauts. The lights came up and when he finished the song, the stage went black again. The applause was deafening. When the lights came back up again, he said "I'd fly with them tomorrow." I completely agreed.
The entire concert was him and his guitar. It's still my favorite to this day.
Then, there was Jonny Lang:
If you don't know his music, he's a blues guitarist who had his first hit album when he was 16. I love this ballad, which, as far as I know, he only does in concert. In the middle of it at the concert I went to, he suddenly said "Don't you hate it when you forget the words." One of his band members prompted him and he picked right up and finished the song.
And, because he's really not a ballad sort of guy, here's my favorite song by Jonny - Lie to Me
And finally, Tim McGraw:
I mainly went to this one with my sister and my nieces because they had an extra ticket. I kept saying I didn't know Tim McGraw all that well and wasn't really a fan...
But, for almost every song he sang, I looked at my sister and said "He does this?" I had a blast. And, I came away thinking Faith Hill was one lucky girl...

Tim McGraw has got to be one of my favorite country singers. Stacy Westfall, a horse trainer, did an amazing freestyle brideless/saddleless reining competition, and it was absolutely gorgeous! It's really famous on youtube. It almost made me cry. The bond that she has with her horse is amazing.

Strangely enough, I think I've seen that and you're right. It is amazing.

ah yes there certainly are some very good country singers! Easy on even us old ladies! lol
I loved John Denver, and Calypso is one of his best. Tim McGraw is great too. Bon Jovi, wonderful, and I really like the jump to some country type music he did a while back. Why don't I know Johhny Lang?
My last concert was....get ready...brace yourself...you're gonna be jealous....
Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Tour....yeah..you're jealous, I can tell ;o)
Kris Kristofferson is supposed to be at a local venue in January for one night. Of course he's older than dirt and who knows if he'll still be singing in 6 months, but I'd love to see him perform.
Some years ago, when Elton and Billy Joel toured, the hubby and I saw them. We've seen The Eagles and Phil Collins also. About a bazillion years ago, (okay--27) we saw Hoyt Axton at a fair in Kalispell, MT. and Bill Cosby in Missoula, MT. Cosby was so funny I just wanted him to stop talking for a minute so I could catch my breath from laughing!
And that is the sum total of my cultural experiences...I are sofisticated...(spelled wrong on purpose..;o)

That's for sure. You're never too old to look!

Jonny isn't as well known in the US as he is in Europe, I don't think. He's amazing and I just discovered that he's got a CD out that I missed. I'll have to fix that.
I'm betting that Hannah was the result of kids and yes, I am jealous! I'd love to have a young person like that around. My nieces, who I love dearly, are now adults and I'm missing the presence of kids!
Never been a huge fan of Kristofferson but you've seen some great acts!
