I was back at the vet's today.
I went to pay Maddie's bill off and to take Max in.
It seems that what I thought was a sprain was actually a puncture wound that I missed when I checked his leg.
It is now an infected puncture wound.
I get to give both cats anti-biotics.
But, I did find out something interesting.
The cat I thought was a Siamese mix isn't.
He is actually a Seal Point Snowshoe Siamese. His eyes would not be blue if he was a mix.
And his markings make him a Snowshoe, which is a relatively rare and expensive breed.
Go figure. To me, he's just my lovable little goofball.

Thanks for visiting my site! I am sorry your Max is hurt- I hope the antibiotics help him heal soon. I was at the vet today too with my Marley dog (before the movie Marley and me! - a routine visit with all of her annual shots $150, her arthritis medicine $50 and her flea/tick and heart worm for the next 3 months $100....my love for her priceless!

We must really love them, huh? Between the two cats, I've spent almost $500 at the vet's and in four weeks I can look forward to another $200!
Ah, well. There is no price tag on love.

I have a few goofballs in my house. They are the best whether they are a rare full-bred or a 1/2 lab 1/2 bear as one of mine are! Hope all is well!
He looks so sweet :D
I hope he will be ok, and interesting find
they don't know if they are pedigree or not either so who cares right? lol.. max is gorgeous in his markings and color though.. very attractive fellow indeed! have fun giving the antibiotics!

We're working on well. Hopefully, once this is all said and done we'll go back to being relatively maintenance free.

He really is a sweety. Just a big, lovable goofball and it doesn't matter to me what he is. But, it is interesting.

He is truly a beautiful cat, which is one of the reasons I have him. When I first saw him as a kitten I thought he was the prettiest cat I'd ever seen. He still is one of the handsomest boys around.
The antibiotics aren't the problem. It's catching the little so and so! I swear he reads my mind and the minute I start thinking about giving him his medication, he vanishes! It took me almost an hour and a half this morning to catch up with him to get it all done. It's going to be a long couple of weeks.

oh yeah!!! they know! lol
Handsome boy, he is for sure!
Nope, I didn't know that about Cain's first book and the Castle series. I only watched one episode of the series, I always meant to watch it again, but never quite got around to it.
My pups is just finishing up some antibiotics herself, for a bug bite or the like that she worried into an infection on her paw...silly mutt! It looks much better now, but she's still licking it too much, so I think I'll break out the old baby sock and soak it in bitter apple, maybe she'll leave it alone then!

It's going better. I've started to work with him. Last night, he cuddled up on my lap and a little bit later, we did the medicine thing. Then, this morning, he was asleep on my bed when I got up so I just grabbed his furry little behind. So much easier!

The sock is an excellent idea. I've gone that route several times before.
Castle was reading the Cain book in an episode that feature his daughter going to the prom. They have the episodes over at ABC.com, if you want to watch them. I love the show and can't wait for the new episodes!

A puncture wound! Poor dear. I'm as nuts about our goofballs as you are. My Minou rubs against the dog, Henry, as if she was Marilyn Monroe. He just looks at us like, "Please, will someone remove this cat from my back?"
I hope all is well with Max, and your pocketbook isn't too deeply punctured in the process.

I love watching the dog and the cats interact. It's always funny. And I've seen that look. One of the cats will harrass Riley and she'll look at me as if to say "Did you see what he just did?" It's funny.
Max is prett well healed and back to being a pest - thankfully. The pocketbook is strained but surviving. At least at the moment.
Thanks for the well wishes!

The problem with pets is that they can't speak human. We had a similar problem -- Spooky was wounded and we didn't realize it till she started to lose weight because the infection had gotten out of hand. She was on antibiotics for months - probably about 4-5 months (this was about 3 years ago).
I've never heard of a Seal Point Snowshoe Siamese. Cool!
