I've just finished an amazing book, Hinterland, Book Two of the Godslayer Chronicles by James Clemens... only to discover that book three isn't on the horizon for this year or next.
I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed these two books and how badly I want to pick up book three. I know I need to be patient, the man has a life, after all but really. Now would be so nice.
So, what do you suggest I do now? How do you give up the need to read the next book in an amazing series and move on to something else?
I am open to suggestions.

wow.. i searched his web site and found that book 3 (if there ever is one) is a no show for 2010 and 2011 !!! That sucks big time !!
When you are really enjoying something it's hard to unwrap your brain and wrap it around something new! wish I could suggest something but I can't other then go to something way different so there is no comparison!
Hi CJ
Book 3 of the Godslayer Chronicles has been delayed due to many reasons primarily due to the publisher's reluctance. Here's what a fan reported when he spoke to Jim about it " In 2006-07 after Hinterland came out ROC(The Publisher of GSC) wasn't sure if they wanted a third book, leaving Jim hemming and hawing about writing 3, when he REALLY wanted to work on it. When ROC finally found out well Hinterland sold, they wanted him to write a third. however he was already under contract for the I.J. novelization and Jake Ransom series "
Plus in the last year 2 years he has written 5 books. Jim still has plans for finishing GSC-III and the remiander of the series. He might be announcing some significant news about it next year(or maybe earlier). Till then all of us will just have to wait for it.

It really is hard picking up with something else. I really love this story.

Thanks for the info. I can't believe ROC would hesitate on book three. The first two were absolutely amazing. Please pass that on for me if you can.
I'll wait... impatiently but I'll wait.

Hi CJ
I thoroughly understand what you mean, I'm still pondering bout it since 2007 :) btw you are absolutely correct, the world of Myrillia is absolutely rivetting!
If this is any comfort to you Jim has written parts of book 3 and hopefully we might get good news about it soon as well.
Till then you can always check out his James Rollins books or also his earlier Clemens series called the Banned & Banished & if you are looking for similar books like the Clemens ones you can also give David Gemmell or Sarah Ash a try.

I'll give them a look. He has me absolute hooked on Godslayer so his other works would probably be an excellent fit, too.

AGH! I hate when that happens! I try not to read anything current to avoid it. No, just kidding, but still...why is every one writing books that have 8 million in a series now? What ever happened to one? The series I was loving was Fire and Ice by George R.R. Martin, and fortunately, they're long enough that I'll have plenty of time to read between each one. You might want to pick up The Game of Thrones. By then, the third in your trilogy should be released.

The problem with stand alones is that I'm always wanting to know more. This Godslayer series is simply wonderful! I'll want impatiently for the next one, let me tell you.
I'll check Martin out and thanks for the suggestion.
