I've gone to moderation here. I hate the idea but every single post on the first page of my blog was spammed today. *Sigh*
What is with these people with the Chinese symbols? Do they really believe anyone is still stupid enough to click on their links? Obviously, I guess those people are still out there, the ones who click, because why else would they (the spammers) still be doing this?
Anyway, one good thing - I've gotten rid of word verification since it isn't needed when I'm moderating comments.

amazing isn't it? with all the things one can do in life that they choose to sit and bother/ hurt others... scary to know there are so many out there.
I know. So weird. I use both word verification *and* comment moderation because I got sick of having to reject a lot of that crap. Even moderating alone wasn't enough. I hate that, but it works.
Part of me wants to blame my blogging absence on spam alone. I stop blogging for a month and BAM--I used to not even have to have the word verfication. Hate it but you're right--they're awful. And the symbol people aren't "anonymous" so you can't block them that way, either. Even my hotmail is getting hit--I'm convinced it's because of twitter. Gah! :)

Never thought of the twitter connection. Wonder if there's truth to it.

Really not sure but one night I sent a direct message to someone with my email address listed and after that I've gotten absurd amounts of spam. :-/ Oh well!
