I finally made myself sit down in front of my bookcase and make sense of it. It was a job long over-due.
Here's a before shot:
And here, after a couple of hours sorting and organizing, is an after shot:
If I were a glutton for punishment, I'd collect all of my books - they're currently spread out in three different places - and see what's what. But, I have no room for them so I'll let them be for now. Except, I do need to find all of my Spenser novels by Robert Parker. I want to make sure I have them all...
Oh... and we can't ignore the TBR stack:
I'm not sure I'll read them all. Especially the white one. It's called The Clinton Tapes and I'm not sure how it got into my stack. Not sure at all. But, since it's there, I'll consider it. Don't know if I can actually read it but I'll consider it and maybe even give it a try.
And, of course, I didn't leave room anywhere for the new books I received for Christmas...
Such a problem to have.

Looks all nice and organized!
I have approximately less than no room to put the books I got for Christmas. You'll have these troubles sometimes, I suppose, when you're a shameless book addict... =)

Thanks. I feel so much better now! And yup, it's the price we pay for being addicts.

I'm so mad that in a temporary loss of mind, in attempting a great organization a few years ago, I got rid of all my Robert B. Parker books. Can you believe it?! Will you still be my friend!
While you were organizing your bookcase, and I must commend you on a job well done, I was sorting out my closet floor. With the vacuum cleaner and a little Murphy's wood soap so I could get every last dust bunny. These jobs are so very tedious, but there is a lovely sense of accomplishment once done.
I envy the way that you have one bookcase, fully done. My books are scattered throughout several bookcases throughout several rooms. Hopefully, we can get to Ikea and get on top of this!
Many blessings on 2011, and may your back recover quickly!

I sometimes think downsizing would be good but then I think about getting rid of stuff and it scares me...

Of course we can still be friends! I've done that - gotten rid of some books and regretted it. Makes it hard to purge, doesn't it?
The bookcase looks spiffy, the rest of the room is a wreck. Maybe on my days off I'll be able to get more done.

I'm supposed to be doing just this very thing, but I'm avoiding. I have books stacked all around me and it's an embarrassing disaster. ;) But I still love them so!
Clinton Tapes, huh?
Hope you had a lovely New Year's!!

If I had to have a sickness, I'm glad it's books...
Yes, The Clinton Tapes.
I'm still trying to figure out where it came from... I'm thinking it was the bad book fairies. They invaded my house one night while I was asleep or at work.
Had to be them.
