Welcome Spring!
So, as DesLily pointed out, I've gone a bit quiet in the last few weeks. I guess not much to say. Well, not much to say here. I've had a lot to say over on my political blog and that's where my focus has been.
But, I can officially say it is Spring!
We burned the snowman on Monday to prove it. It was originally scheduled to be torched on Friday, the 19th but high winds and the fire department decreed otherwise.
Frosty went up in flames a day late instead of a couple of days early. I'm just glad the sucker burned!
Now, of course, we've hit a cold spell - it's 15F right now and yesterday we had 40 mph wind gusts.
So goes Spring in the UP of Michigan.
The reading is going very well and I have a review I'm dying to do. I hope to get to it this weekend.

February Wrap Up
First, a view from the Mackinac Bridge, taken by a friend. When it looks like this, that's a sure sign spring is on the way. I went outside today in just a sweatshirt - it was in the mid-40's here! I want to believe it is spring, but I know better.
So, in spite of the fact that I've been slacking on the reviews, I read seven book during the month of February. Much better than January and pretty good, given my mind set which was pretty bad:
10. Hinterland (Book Two of the Godslayer Chronicles) by James Clemens
9. Dog On It by Spencer Quinn
8. Dancing with Werewolves by Carole Nelson Douglas
7. The Professional by Robert B. Parker
6. Rough Weather by Robert B. Parker
5. Chasing a Blond Moon by Joseph Heywood
4. Kitty's House of Horrors by Carrie Vaughn
I loved, absolutely loved Hinterland and completely enjoyed Dog On It. I also bid a bittersweet farewell to Spenser and crew. Heywood writes incredibly complex stories that are quickly becoming favorites. I didn't care at all for Dancing with Werewolves - it was too disjointed, too incomplete for my tastes. And unfortunately, Carrie Vaughn seems determined to lose me as a reader. I'll give the next book a go because she's brought Cormac back but I am, frankly, tired of the gratuitous insults of my political beliefs. I cannot tell you how sad it will make me to stop reading her wonderful series.
So, how about the rest of you? Was February a good month?

It's come to this
I've gone to moderation here. I hate the idea but every single post on the first page of my blog was spammed today. *Sigh*
What is with these people with the Chinese symbols? Do they really believe anyone is still stupid enough to click on their links? Obviously, I guess those people are still out there, the ones who click, because why else would they (the spammers) still be doing this?
Anyway, one good thing - I've gotten rid of word verification since it isn't needed when I'm moderating comments.
Sorry, folks.

Friday Fill - ins 59
It's Friday night and I actually remembered that fact! So, here's my fill in, which I haven't done in forever!
1. Why are you making hay when the sun isn't shining?
2. I want you to take me away from all of this.
3. If I'm to ever be what I want to be, then it will be on my terms.
4. Let's wait and see what happens.
5. I could use a couple of new knees.
6. I like to play with my dog at the beach and then sit and read while she plays by herself.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing my shift, tomorrow my plans include sleeping late and watch Duke beat UNC and Sunday, I want to sleep well and enjoy our spring-like weather!
